Samantha Baker, RN
Co-Founder & Clinic Manage

A Registered Nurse of twelve years, Magnolia’s Founder and Clinical Manager, Samantha Baker, has over a decades’ experience in Aesthetic Medical procedures.
After graduating from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2005, Samantha completed a Graduate Program in Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at John Flynn Private Hospital on the Gold Coast.

In 2006, she decided to follow her true passion and commenced training in cosmetic injectable treatments. Throughout the course of the next five years, Samantha trained and worked alongside some of the industry’s key opinion leaders, culminating in a position as Practice Manager with a leading Gold Coast Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon.

Progressing from student to teacher, in 2012 Samantha accepted a position as a Clinical Trainer with Galderma Australia, and shortly thereafter, received a Train the Trainer endorsement and commenced educating other trainers on both injectables and best-training practices. During her time with Galderma, Samantha trained abroad in Monaco, Singapore and Hong Kong, and gained further instruction from such internationally-acclaimed Plastic Surgeons as Doctors Mauricio de Maio and Steven Liew, and leading expert on botulinum toxin, Andy Pickett.

Samantha is highly experienced in the administration of anti-wrinkle and dermal filler injections.

Dr Ahmad Sayed
Chief Cosmetic Practitioner

Dr Sayed graduated from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt where he was awarded the Excellent With Honours, MB BCh in 2006.

After training and working in acute care in the Sydney metropolitan region, Dr Sayed moved into family healthcare in 2013 after completing a Diploma in Child Health at the University of Sydney, Westmead Hospital and in 2014 completing an Advanced Diploma of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

After treating his first skin-cancer patient in 2015 and witnessing the life-saving impact of his diagnosis, he was inspired to specialise in skin cancer and gained further accreditation in Surgical Skin Cancer and Dermoscopy, studying at the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. His passion for skin cancer treatment saw him make the natural progression into Aesthetic Medicine, obtaining an Advanced Diploma in Cosmetic Medicine at the Academy of Cosmetic Medicine & Science in 2016.

A perfectionist by nature with a passion for aesthetics, Dr Sayed is excellently positioned to guide our Clinical staff in the delivery of advanced cosmetic procedures.

Susan Walsh, NP
Cosmetic Injector

A Registered Nurse since 1987 and with over a decade’s experience in advanced cosmetic procedures, Susan has recently completed her Masters of Nursing and in turn gained her endorsement as a Nurse Pratitioner.

Following a fifteen-year tenure as a primary healthcare nurse, Susan moved into the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, quickly gaining experience in pre- and post-operative treatment and cosmetic procedures. Throughout the past ten years, Susan has worked alongside some of the Gold Coast’s most prominent Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and is a current Queensland Clinical Trainer and Facilitator for Galderma Australia.
Susan is highly experienced in the administration of anti-wrinkle and dermal filler injections.

Mary-Ellen Beattie, RN
Skin & Laser Specialist

A Registered Nurse with a world of experience, Mary-Ellen is our resident Skin and Laser Specialist. After completing a Bachelor of Science and obtaining her RN qualification in 1984, Mary-Ellen then spent over twenty years as a Coronary Care Specialist.

Seeking a new challenge, in 2005 Mary-Ellen took on a role as Practice Nurse for a prominent Plastic Surgeon where she was expertly trained in all aspects of theatre, pre- and post-operative consultation, cosmetic injectables, light and laser therapies, and skin care. For the past 12 years, Mary-Ellen has honed her skills and acquired a wealth of knowledge working and training in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Singapore, the United States, and recently spent six months working abroad in the prestigious Edvard and Pink luxury spa in Dublin, Ireland.

A true professional of the industry who is constantly looking to further her knowledge and skills, Mary-Ellen is currently undertaking advanced study through the AustralAsian Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine, a process which she believes is helping her to look beyond the surface to within and further enhance her client’s results.

Carolyn Connor, RN
Cosmetic Injector

Hospital trained in emergency care, Carolyn has been a Regsitered Nurse for over 27 years. After discovering cosmetic injectables as a patient over a decade ago, Carolyn has since devoted her career to aesthetic nursing, passionate about the effect her craft can have on her patients’ self esteem and confidence.

An artist by passion and an aesthetic nurse by profession, Carolyn’s area of expertise is facial assessment and rejuvenation treatments. Her patients appreciate her gentle hand, attention to detail, and her dedication to achieving facial harmony through natural results.

A former Queensland Clinical Trainer for Galderma Australia, Carolyn is highly experienced in the administration of anti-wrinkle and dermal filler injections.

Monique Dickson, RN
Dermal Therapist & Cosmetic Injector

After obtaining an Advanced Diploma of Health Science (Aesthetics) and commencing her career as a Dermal Therapist in 2009, Monique returned to study and gained a Bachelor of Nursing in 2013.

After working in the hospital system in Intensive Care and Surgical wards, Monique joined the Magnolia family in 2017 as a Dermal Therapist and trainee Cosmetic Injector. Since that time, she has been lucky enough to be trained by an entire staff roster of advanced Clinical Trainers, and is now a fully trained Cosmetic Injector.

Shelby Brooks
Cosmetic & Medical Tattooist

Trained as an elite cosmetic tattooist by Andrea Darby, Advanced International Master Trainer, Shelby has performed thousands of eyebrow, eyeliner and lip procedures throughout the past six years utilising the very latest advanced techniques.

Highly experienced in all forms of tattooing using either a digital tattoo machine or a microblading technique (feathering, feather touch, feather stroke, 3D brows, powder fill and Ombre), Shelby’s real secret is her aesthetic eye. During your initial consultation, Shelby will thoroughly assess your facial anatomy and proportions and customise a tattoo design tailored especially for you. This will ensure your cosmetic tattooing looks natural and in harmony with your facial features.
