Dermal filler injections are made of a naturally-occurring substance found in the skin, and act to add or restore volume to the treated area. Magnolia uses a wide range of dermal fillers that vary in both viscosity (thickness) and elasticity, depending on your individual facial tissue and indication.
The Plain Speak
Dermal fillers are used to either replace volume lost through biological (natural) ageing, or add volume to achieve symmetry or more aesthetic facial lines and proportions.
Volume loss is one of the three primary indicators of ageing (along with skin laxity and the formation of fine lines and wrinkles) and is most noticeable in the cheeks, the brow and the lips. The resulting signs of ageing include a squaring of the face and the formation of nasolabial folds and jowls as the cheeks sag to a lower position. Higher up, volume loss to the brow region exposes the upper orbital rim, giving the face a more skeletal appearance. Finally, volume loss can result in thinner, less shapely lips, and the formation of vertical upper lip lines. Dermal fillers can restore volume to these areas, resulting in a refreshed, more yourthful appearance.
There is a reason why some people appear ‘more attractive’ than others which goes far beyond personal preference. Facial symmetry and proportion, as well as specific lines and angles of a face greatly affect what is instinctively seen as attractive. The experienced Injectors at Magnolia are educated and trained in these natural aspects of aesthetics, and know how to add volume to specific areas of the face to either lift, tighten or volumise in order to achieve a desired result.
